D’fhógair Príomh-Aoire an Rialtais agus Aire Stáit don Ghaeltacht agus don Spórt, Jack Chambers TD, inniu (7 Bealtaine 2021) toradh an phróisis chuimsithigh chomhairliúcháin a tugadh faoi le hearnáil na gColáistí Samhraidh Gaeilge.

I bhfianaise é seo rinneadh cinneadh gan leanúint ar aghaidh leis na cúrsaí Gaeilge a aithnítear faoin gcóras de ghnáth i Samhradh 2021.

Tá an-díomá orainn go bhfuil orainn é seo a dhéanamh arís. Tuigeann muid go raibh na scoláirí ar fad ag súil go mór le teacht go Coláiste UISCE agus go mbeidh an-díomá orthu ar fad arís.

Beidh muid ag tabhairt aisíocaíocht iomlán do gach duine a bhí cláraithe agus beidh muid i dteagmháil leat go luath chun é seo a eagrú. Anuas air sin, agus muid ag cloí le treoirlínte an rialtais, scrúdóidh muid na féidearthachtaí ar fad le sláinte agus sábháilteacht ár gcustaiméirí agus ár bhfoirne chun cinn. Tá súil againn a bheith i dteagmháil libh roimh dheireadh na seachtaine seo chugainn maidir leis na féidearthachtaí sin.

Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and Sport, Jack Chambers TD, today (7th May 2021) announced the outcome of the extensive consultation process undertaken with the Irish Language Summer Colleges sector.

Following the consultation process and in recognition of the concerns expressed, a decision has been taken not to proceed with State-backed courses in Summer 2021.

Once again, we are extremely disappointed for all students who have been looking forward so much to attending Coláiste UISCE. We can appreciate how disappointed you must also be with the cancellation.

We will be issuing a full refund to everyone who was booked on the courses with us and will be in touch with you in the coming weeks to organise this. We will also be examining what alternative options are available to us while keeping the health and safety of customers and staff at the forefront of all decisions made and in compliance with government guidelines.

27/04/2021: Update regarding Summer 2021

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media have recently launched COVID-19 Guidelines for the Irish Language Summer College sector including Gaeltacht host families who provide accommodation to students. The guidelines are published on the Departments website and are available to view here.

The guidelines state that no Gaeltacht Summer Courses will take place, in levels 3, 4 or 5 of the National Framework. It is recommended that there will be a reduction of 75% of maximum capacity levels for students during levels 1 or 2.

Minister of State Jack Chambers is currently engaging with representatives from each Gaeltacht college/ Gaeltacht households (Bean an Tí’s) for their feedback in relation to the newly launched guidelines and the current situation, this process will take up to two weeks. The final meeting is due to take place during the first week of May.

Unfortunately, at present we are not overly confident that Gaeltacht Courses will go ahead this summer.

As soon as we have any further information, we will revert back to you.

27/04/2021: Cúrsaí Samhraidh 2021: An t-eolas is deireanaí

Tá treoirlínte COVID-19 d’earnáil na gColáistí Gaeilge seolta ag Príomh-Aoire an Rialtais agus Aire Stáit Spóirt agus Gaeltachta, Jack Chambers T.D. Tá na treoirlínte foilsithe ar shuíomh na Roinne agus le fáil anseo.

De réir na treoirlínte seo, ní bheidh cúrsaí samhraidh in ann feidhmiú le linn leibhéil 3, 4 ná 5 den Chreat Náisiúnta agus tá sé molta go mbeidh laghdú 75% ar líon na scoláirí a bheidh in iostas faoi leibhéal 1 agus 2.

Ar mhaithe le tuairimí agus le moltaí faoin ábhar a chloisteáil ó theaghlaigh a chuireann lóistín ar fáil faoin gcóras, tá an tAire Stáit Chambers ag tabhairt cuireadh inniu do gach coláiste Gaeilge a aithnítear faoin gcóras Teaghlaigh Ghaeltachta ionadaí amháin dá gcuid a ainmniú chun freastal ar chruinniú. Tá an cruinniú deireanach le bheith ar siúl ag tús mí na Bealtaine.

Chomh luath is atá scéal againn beidh muid ar ais i dteagmháil libh.
