CÚRSA CÁSCA - Gaeltacht Easter Course

Having spent the last 17 years running our Summer Irish Courses and building on the needs of our customers we are offering a first rate Easter Irish Course to cater for all students.

Our Cúrsa Cásca is a shortened version of our summer courses during which classes are customised to the specific needs of different age groups, classes and exam years.

On the Cúrsa Cásca numbers are reduced to ensure individual attention. This also creates a close knit environment for the students to thrive in. It is an ideal course for those who have a hectic summer planned but would like to improve their Irish.

The Cúrsa Cásca leaves students refreshed and ready to get stuck into the final school term having spent over a week taking part in healthy activities through the medium of Irish.

Students will receive an Irish progress report upon completion of the Easter Course.

UASMHÉADAIGH DO THORTHAÍ - Maximise Your Results

From 2010 onward 40% of the Leaving Certificate will be based on the standard of spoken Irish. The Cúrsa Cásca is therefore a great opportunity for any student to improve their Irish and particularly prepare for their Oral Irish Exam.

Coláiste UISCE has tailored a syllabus to hone in on skills needed to achieve top marks in exams at both junior and senior level.

STRUCHTÚR AN CHÚRSA - Course Structure

RANG 1 – 5th & 6th Year – This is a Pre-Leaving Certificate course that concentrates on exam techniques and tools to improve the students ability in aural & oral exams as well as essay writing and comprehension skills. Our aim is to maximise the student’s result by giving them a structured approach to their exam.

RANG 2 – Transition Year – This syllabus aims to give the transition year students a ‘Grá' for the Irish language and to be a step ahead of their peers before entering into the senior cycle. This Irish course will give them the confidence necessary for their oral Irish exam. A youth leadership programme is also at the forefront of the transition year syllabus. Our TY programme will focus on communication, problem solving and teamwork through the medium of Irish.

RANG 3 – 2nd & 3rd Year – This exam preparation course will focus on the Junior Certificate exam. The students will learn exam techniques to undertake sections of the national exam and maximise their results.

RANG 4 – 6th Class & 1st Year – Students in primary school and their first year of secondary school will learn Irish through communicative activities in the classroom. Our aim is to boost their confidence in speaking the language, widen their vocabulary and increase their understanding.
